English language teaching
and
specialist support for neurodivergent learners (e.g. dyslexic learners).

Transcript of ELT well welcome video

Hi – welcome to the ELT well website. I’m Anne Margaret and I founded ELT well, back in 2005, as a way of bringing together good practice from different fields of education that I’m involved in.

I am an English language teacher. I started teaching English as a foreign language about 30 years ago now, before moving into universities where I taught English for Academic Purposes.

But most recently I’ve been involved in ESOL, which is adult community education here in the UK, for people who are using English as an additional language in their daily lives.

I’m also a dyslexia specialist tutor, and a qualified assessor, and I work alongside the British Dyslexia Association. But most of my work is through ELT well, where I provide opportunities for professional development - both for English language teachers who would like to know a bit more about dyslexia, and for dyslexia professionals who would like to know more about multilingualism.

So here on the website you will find information about dyslexia and other specific learning differences – and how they might impact on the language learning process.

You’ll find information about how to identify those multilingual learners who might also have a specific learning difference.

You’ll find quite a lot of classroom resources and materials that you could use to implement more inclusive practices in your language classroom,
and also online courses that will help you to make the most of those resources.

So feel free to have a browse, and if you have any questions at all, do get in touch, and I’ll be very happy to have a chat with you or to answer any questions as best I can.
