Looking to work inclusively with groups of diverse students?
ELT well courses enable teachers to support all their learners, to understand their barriers and find the right strategies and resources to overcome them.

Assessing Multilingual Learners
This course is for you if you suspect that one of your EAL / ESOL learners may have dyslexia or another SpLD. Participants find out how to make the most of the CAML materials and explore the key issues that make the assessment of multilingual people different from assessing English-speaking (monolingual) people.
- 5 sessions, each taking about 90 minutes.
- Start any time that suits you – you have 2 months to complete.
- Work through sample case studies to produce a report and claim your certificate
- Price includes a CAML assessment kit
Each stage of the process is exemplified by case study material, which builds towards the final session, when participants are required to make a judgement about the cognitive profile of one learner, complete a report memo setting out the key features of their cognitive profile, and make some recommendations to inform teaching.
Once you have booked your course, you have 2 months in which to complete the 5 sessions, each one taking about 90 minutes. You can do it all in one day, or a little at a time, whichever suits you best.
Please allow a couple of days for the materials to arrive in the post to you.
Please note – this course is no longer SASC accredited.
Understanding Neurodiversity
As a neurodiverse species, our brains are all different. This course is for anyone who would like to understand humans better, whether you meet them at home, in the workplace, or in the classroom.
- 6 sessions, each taking about 90 minutes.
- Start any time that suits you – you have 2 months to complete.
- Work through the sessions and submit your neurotype chart to claim your certificate
- Price includes the activity book ‘Raising Awareness of SpLDs’ and the comic ‘Adventures on Inkling Island’
Through experiential activities and social stories, participants will become familiar with the key characteristics of 6 common specific learning differences (SpLDs), as well as how they co-occur in neurodiverse people.
The course materials (included in the price) enable you to continue the work of raising awareness of SpLDs amongst your colleagues, family and students, to help them to understand the impacts of SpLDs on daily life, as well as in the workplace and the classroom.

The Neurodiverse Language Classroom
So, you have found out how to identify the barriers to learning that face your neurodivergent learners, and you understand the interplay between the different neurotypes. That’s great. But the big question still remains: WHAT SHOULD WE DO IN THE CLASSROOM ??
This course is for you if you are teaching a neurodiverse group (hint: you probably are).
- 8 sessions, each taking about an hour.
- Start any time that suits you – you have 2 months to complete.
- Work through the sessions and submit your reflection sheet to claim your certificate
- Price includes two activity books: ‘Including Dyslexic Language Learners’ and ‘Language Learning and Musical Activities’.
This course covers the where, what and who of inclusive teaching, demonstrates how to incorporate learning strategies and multisensory approaches, and explores the development of self-regulatory techniques to help neurodivergent learners thrive in the classroom. Supported reflection activities build into a plan for ongoing development tailored to your context.
